Looking for good mechanic shop in St Johns Fl area. Back story, my youngest Neice loves jeeps. recently she was quoted $1000 bucks for shocks. I don’t know what they were going to install but that was for four and install. Dealer wanted $400 for two. I told them to stay away from both of them. I ended ordering aftermarket factory Monroe replacements because she doesn’t Offroad, and put a rough country damper on steering for less than $160 all on sale. I installed them in about and hour. It is really easy on a 2020 JL
I do not lI’ve near them so I’m not the regular go to For upkeep or repairs.
I am just looking for an honest shop that will not rake a woman over the coals and rob them blind Just because they are female! Can I get name drop so I don’t have research the entire web and can just research a few for next time.

$400 for two from a dealer is about what I would expect to pay. The front and rear shocks are the same price front and back. $800 for all 4 at the dealer is a fair price. You may find someone to install them cheaper and save a couple hundred. Monroe? Haven't bought them in a while. Didn't have a good experience with Monroe. I believe Bilstein makes a good shock for the daily driver at $112 each, if you can find them. Installing is pretty easy. Through bolts at either end make it simple. So yes, it is hard to swallow the installation bill from the dealer, but you would hopefully get OEM shocks out of it. Monroe?

Does the Niece take any interest in learning anything or she just a put the gas in it and go type only? I have been down this road of trying to help a female family member long distance trying to keep a vehicle roadworthy and sometimes your best efforts can be in vain if they do not put a little effort into learning things themselves.

I understand “our understanding “ of this specific circumstance but letting the youth make these mistakes is what makes them grow into stronger people. Once they learn they were taken they become educated and become stronger. I’m personally just as guilty as anyone doing things like this for my own kids but it’s soooooo hard to see them get taken advantage of. I live 15 hrs away from all my kiddo’s. I’
m am personally part of the problem of this multi generation issue( mil and z’s) that I have to remind myself often to let them figure it out. It’s hard but necessary.
