Lower back pain anyone?!

I have l5-s1 compression and I have to be careful about how I sit in these seats or it can give me serious back pain. Hasn't been an issue in any other vehicle.

Back injuries/problems are so complex. It’s hard to compare apples to apples. Hell, if I stand too long, my back starts to hurt.

The only car seats I've ever found more comfortable than my JK's leather seats is the JT's. Spectacular, for my build and my lower back damage and issues. I do dislike that the bottom tilts slightly down, which I will fix with spacers today or tomorrow. My wife really hates that too. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the seats take some time to break in.

I put spacers under the front of the seat (1/4") and it made it so much more comfortable for me. Just did an 1800 mile trip and 0 pain. Before I couldn't spend more than an hour in the seat with pain.

Just some plastic spacers I had laying around, and also I did a leveling kit with spring spacers, both helped. If I had to make something I didn't have, I'd grab some metal or plastic and cut to fit. But I have a pretty complete shop and lots of scrap stuff.

Your real question is what YOU can use for a spacer, and perhaps the best answer is to check out a large Ace hardware for some small aluminum spacers. They are likely to have something.

I had lower back surgery for an L4-L5 extruded disc about ~2 years ago and the seats have been no issue for me at all thus far

Actually quite opposite. I have back problems already and my Gladiator is very comfortable on long drives. The day I picked it up I drove 500 miles home. That was a Tuesday and on Friday I drove it to Florida from TN. The ink on the check hasn’t even dried and it has 2100 miles on it already.

Agreed. I do find I have lower back pain driving my 04 WJ - but my Overland JT, wonderful for long drives and I have a bad back because of years of heavy lifting and manual labor as a mechanic.

I don't have pictures but it's pretty straight forward, just remove the two front bolts that hold the seat to the floor, loosen the rear two, lift the front of the seat and slip some washers between the floor and the seat, then reinstall the two bolts and tighten all 4.
