I am looking for some recommendations for some trails in Ma. that are beginner/intermediate to do some off roading. Hoping for trails that are somewhat maintained so that I don't scratch the hell out of my truck. Stuff around me beats that bag out of the paint that I then have to repair.

Thanks!

In the Milford area on Beaver/Maple Street(?) over near Waters Instruments there was an old power line run that was called 'Nam'. I'd wheel there in my '96 GC at lunch time as I worked very close to it.

Dunno if it's still open as last time I heard, back in '00 or '01, the MA DEP closed it down to wheeling even though wheeling clubs carefully maintained it and even had an old broken Bronco hauled out of there.

@1rider check out MA Bell trail in Northampton, MA. It's pretty short but really fun and legal. Just don't go past the top of the trail, the property owner doesn't want anyone going further than that.

There is also Old Florida Road over in Adams MA. Also legal, but I haven't been yet.

I would look around on https://where2wheel.com/trails/

I haven’t had much luck and really haven’t adventured out since last year. Most of the places I’ve gone are places I shouldn’t really be (utility easements). However there were no signs saying to turnaround or gates. Regardless, I’ve stopped wheeling on those easement trails.

I’m in Central Mass though so trails are more limited. I bet there’s decent stuff out in west Mass or north towards NH.

I was going to check out a place in Rhode Island called Baker Trail but it seems that it’s closed to trucks/suvs now and is routinely patrolled.

It’s tough up here to find trails but not as tough as southeast Texas was. Western states really have it made in that regard - Off-road/adventure heaven.

In New England most wheeling Property is private and the the little that is open is only sorta open.
I would recommend checking out a local club or 2 event if you don't you might get some ideas on what you want to do with your vehicle
The over all North east wheeling Organization: Northeast Association of 4WD Clubs or "NEA" for short is a collaborative of many individual clubs that wheel at several different levels
For club info: https://nea4wd.org/membership/member-clubs

I used to ride there back in '01-'02 time frame. The MTB folks took it over and trails suffered. But at no point did I ever see it as stock friendly or not scratch your truck wheeling.

There really isn't much in MA. If you don't want pinstripes you can always do the beaches on the cape and islands.

Depending on where you are located, southern/mid NH has miles and miles of Class 6 roads that are excellent. You'll still get pinstripes but it's unavoidable in the north east.
