Going to get my JT from Koon's in a week and I've been prepping for its arrival. I ordered AEV Pintlers in matte black. Today I was trying to install new TPMS' and screwed one of the wheels up. I've never installed these sensors and was having a heck of a time getting the valve stems seated. So I decided to use an old trick to get MTB grips on bars - use alcohol! Absolutely horrendous move. The alcohol ruined the matte finish where it dripped down. WTF! Then I made another wrong move trying to get the sensor and valve stem out and slightly marked up the wheel. So now I'm out a wheel and a valve stem. Should have just let the tire shop do it. I might contact AEV and inquire about refinish cost...I guess I'm just surprised that alcohol was so harmful to the matte finish. Expensive lesson...
