I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm a new (posting) member and have tried to search first... Has anyone ever swapped the Max Tow or Nighthawk fenders from a sport version ON TO a Rubicon?? I know it's a relatively common mod to go the OPPOSITE way, but I don't have any confirmation of my idea.

I'm in the market for a new JT and I like all of the features of the Rubicon, but just cannot get past how bad the high fenders look to me (no offense to the Rubi guys). If I could swap a painted Nighthawk fender, say, onto a Rubicon is that something I could order primered directly from mopar? I'm more interested in vanity and wheel well proportions than rock climbing ability. I like that the elockers could get me out of the mud easier while i sit in my leather seat, but I don't need to articulate over the corn stalks in the flat area I live.

In the end, if I can't get the exterior look of the Nighthawk, I'll sacrifice the elockers and trail cam, etc. Thanks so much for any help. I've been creeping a while and gained a wealth of helpful information from you guys.

Yeah you can downgrade from high clearance to low clearance fenders. Just pop off the high clearance and pop on the low clearance. Im sure someone with a non-rubicon would be thrilled to trade with you. They might think you are crazy as well.

Why not run Xtreme Recon fender extensions instead?

Hey thanks for that. You're certainly right, I figure I wouldn't have any problem getting rid of mine. I know that does sound crazy...may even regret it.

But from what I could tell the Xtreme Recon only increase the width, correct? I'm not as worried about how wide they run...But I like how the "lesser" model fenders sit the whole fender flares an inch or two lower than the hoodline when compared to the Rubicon and Mojave, if that makes sense.

If you were to change to low clearance fenders and if you plan on going offroad, you will more then likely rub pretty badly if the suspension is flexed out/articulated.
