Media hub door

Has anyone successfully removed the cover to the media hub on the dash? I tried pushing the pin out with a metal rod but I haven't gotten it to budge. I have cables plugged into both ports and have no need for the cover to be open all the time. I have my wireless charger plugged into the USB-C port and a USB to USB-C adapter in the other for my wife's phone to charge. I put my wireless charger on the front edge that turns down in front of the gear shifter and below the dash. Any insight would be great so I can get that cover off.

I use cables with right angle connectors so the door will close most of the way.
