Ok Gladiator family! Who has the best skid plate system for the Gladiator and why is it better! All experiences and feedback welcome.

Don't forget Rubicon Express or Asfir.

I like the Asfir skids because they are aluminum and priced right. Transfer case skid could cover rail to rail, but they found it not to be necessary.

Oh and I used both with some modifications

Rock Hard's benefit is the solid crossmembers that can likely take a lot more beating. Metalcloak offers similar coverage at less weight but is still beefy as hell.

If you plan on dropping the weight of your truck onto your skids on a regular basis I'd do Rock Hard but if not, Metalcloak is a fantastic system. I personally have the latter and I'm more than happy with it.

I ordered RH4X4 aluminum 2 months ago. 2 weeks in I asked for tracking, told it'll ship in another week. 4 weeks later I check back and am told they're swamped and they will get them pushed out next week...

At this point I should've gone with ARTEC.

I really wanted Artec but couldn't justify that price... The one thing they do I wish others did is remove the factory gas tank skid. That has to be 40lbs or more which is significant when you're adding the weigh of a skid system. Definitely something I'm going to look into resolving.

I definitely would want to do that as well

Installed Rockhard 4x4 aluminum (180lbs) complete belly pan skid plates with dual crossmembers today, what a pain... It's mostly done, just working with RH to address a couple of things from the JLU to JT.

My Artec just arrived today. I'll report back after I install it. Hopefully in the next two weeks or so I will get a chance.

When you do, can you document the hell out of how they support the tank? It appears to be a rear crossmember and strap and I'd like to build something similar for my setup if it turns out the crossmember wouldn't fit or if Artec won't sell the crossmember separately.

This document is the best I have found so far. Scroll down and you can see pictures of the fuel tank skid removal and install. It's on a JL but that shouldn't matter. If there is something more specific that would help let me know and I will try to get pictures for you.
