I have owned my JT Mojave for around two months and have been searching for the perfect set of wheels to replace the stock wheels. I made a short list of wheels that caught my eye and then began comparing specifications. I knew I didn't want a wheel with too much poke out past the fender flares. I don't plan on lifting my Mojave because 35" tires fit without lifting and give the height I will need for any wheeling I will throw at it. I settled on Method Racing 317 wheels in 17"x8.5" with 0 offset and Falken Wildpeak R/T tires in size 35/11.5/17 load range C. I settled on the R/T tires because when I placed my order online, the AT4W tires were unavailable at www.DiscountTire.com.
When everything arrived at my local Discount Tire store on Battlefield Blvd in Chesapeake, VA, I scheduled an installation appointment for May 10th. Upon arriving I was met in the parking lot by an employee who checked me in and reviewed my order. Everything was correct, and we began discussing the new Falken Wildpeak AT4W tires. I explained to him that was my first choice and decided to give the R/T tires a shot since the AT4W was unavailable when I placed my order. He took my keys, and I went and grabbed a seat in the lobby, waiting for my turn to go into the bay. About 5 minutes later, the employee approached me and said he could have the AT4W tires the size I wanted the following Wednesday if I was willing to wait. His proactive approach impressed me, and I appreciated his effort to get me the desired tires. I decided to wait until the following week to get my desired tires.
I like sharing this story because it says a lot about the superb customer service I received from my local Discount Tire. In contrast to my previous experiences with other vendors, where I encountered issues such as poor balancing, damage to the face side of wheels, and warranty issues with tires that began to dry rot and crack within a year, my experience at Discount Tire was a breath of fresh air.
