I picked up my Mopar tonneau cover from the local dealership yesterday and installed it last night. I love it!

I love mine as well.

Only thing I do not like about it is its not easily removable and you can only use 2/3 of the bed. No way to secure it completely open. I have seen some 3rd party ones that have struts, etc.

Since you did your own install, how hard is it to remove it if you didn't want to have it flipped all the way up, figuring out how to support it if you needed the entire bed for something? Just a couple clips near the front? Time to remove it?

I ordered my Gladiator yesterday and went back and forward on this option versus the roll up or soft tri fold. I went with the hard tri fold for the look and they seem they will be a bit harder for someone to get into if tailgate locked.

Again though, wondering on removal time. And, what is needed to get it removed, and then, what time would then be needed to put it back in?

It will open all the way to the cab. If you open it all the way, it has straps to hold it open. Struts would be nice, but I had to get the Mopar one. The dealership had installed a soft tonneau cover on it and I talked them into letting me pay the difference for the hard cover. They didn't have one in stock, so they made arrangements to allow me to get it from a dealer near me.

There are two bolts that attach the front of the cover to the side rails. Remove them and slide the cover out of the track at the tailgate.

Yeah, it can open to the cab...but can't stay that way while driving which is what I was trying to describe. Which limits use of the bed somewhat.

Other than that, I am still glad I got it over the soft cover.

I only briefly looked under the front part to see what was involved to remove the cover and it seemed like something I would only undertake if I absolutely had too. I have seen some other designs in other trucks that offer much quicker/easier ways to remove the covers.

Can you open either at the front and/or tailgate separately?

Anyone have pics with it open?

Deciding on this option for my gladiator.... Thanks

You have to open the top, one section at a time starting from the tailgate. The tailgate must be open to access the tonneau lock and each section has it's own lock. You pull the wire to release the lock.

I wish it had come with prop rods to prevent it from resting on the back of the cab. I have been looking at ways to make my own. I would have preferred to have bought a cover that was equipped with them, but that wasn't an option. My Gladiator had a dealer installed soft top cover, and the only way they would remove it, was that I replace it with the Mopar tri fold.

Just went out and looked at the straps that secure each section when folded. Evidently, it is not intended to be raised to the back of the cab. The tie down straps cannot be attached when it is fully upright. There would be too much play in the strap, because you cannot tighten the strap enough.

THANK YOU ... I like the sleek look and do not use the bed as much. Added to the order!

I just bought mine and am having issues installing it. The bottom bolt for the rail either doesn’t seem to be thick enough or the bed wall at the front of the cab is bit threaded so I have to explore buying a nut to secure it.

Should have come with nut inserts you have to install in the bed.

theres only two nuts holding the most forward part down. So pretty simple to remove if you needed to have full access to the entire bed.
