I really like the look of my Rough Country HD rock sliders, nice smooth exterior, no protruding tubes to catch on rocks. However, even with a small lift my wife stated she would really like a step on the passenger side. So I ordered the MORE Easy Step and figured with a little modification I could make it work. Pics below. I notched the mounting bracket with an angle grinder cut off wheel to position the step a little further from the tub. The main bolt needed to be longer and have some spacers to bring the step down so it would go under the rock rail. Then I added about 1 1/2 inches to the step by bending and welding some strap material onto the outer edge of the step. With a little adjustment I got it so it functions well, and the spring loaded retraction system still works well. If we are going to be Jeeping in rocky conditions, I still have the ability to pull the 2 pins and remove the step, the part still bolted to the Jeep does hang down, but not lower than the frame rail by more than 1/2 inch or so. I thought I would have to add a second brace from the step to the pinch bolt on the rear side of the step, but it seems pretty secure with just the one brace I made.
