Hey all,
In case you were wondering about the tailgate table I sent from Mountain Hatch I have a quick pros and cons review to give on it.
Pros (or what I feel are pros):
It's flat.
Has a few cutouts for cups and maybe screws so they don't roll off the tailgate.
It's thick.
It's food safe.
It looks better than stock.
Cons:
It's heavy.
It warps in sun/heat (to the point I can't close the tailgate). This is a deal breaker for me.
It scratches easily.
There's a gap under it.
It doesn't screw down on the bottom half of the tailgate (which probably would help with the warping).
The hardware it comes with is silver button head screws which don't lie flat or level with the board. (I bought new hardware that sits below the top of the board, should've bought black though).
It gets hot in the sun. (maybe even hotter than the spray in bed liner that I have in it).
As for the owner of Mountain Hatch; he seems like a good guy. He was always responsive to my messages and concerns. He and his wife offer discounts for military and even teachers. And as a teacher, I appreciate that. We don't get appreciation discounts much.
That's about it for my pros and cons review as of now. Hope it helps guide your purchase and how you spend your hard earned cash.
Ultimately, as it stands, I probably wouldn't buy again unless the issues were worked out by Mountain Hatch.
Thanks.
