Does anybody have a recommendation for a rear sear cover that still provides access to the car seat latch systems? I have 2 car seats and a booster in the back and want to protect the seat from messy kids.

Most of what I am seeing online only provides access to the seat buckle latches.

I used a seat cover by 4Knines from the website Chewy. I got the Grey one as I put on PRP seat covers that are also Grey. One thing to note is the backing material did tend to rub and bleed into the vinyl seat material, so I now have a towel between the seat cover and the seats. It works for both a car seat base, childs seat and anyone that wants to buckle a seatbelt in.

I hade a rear facing base with the pop in carrier. followed by two front facing car seates, and now one standard carseat and a booster.

PRP is a manufacturer that makes custom slip covers for seats in Wranglers and JTs. I put in nice grey vinyl ones and want to protect the rear seat, so my rear seats technically have 2 seat covers on them.

Those are nice!

if you have them in the front do they negatively impact seat warmers?

I've used the same one as @Gren71 for the past two years, think it was $35 when I bought it. Washable and still great shape, just saved the backseat the other day from and accident by my potty training two year old.

I saw you got three across the back as well. Which seat belt extender is that? The one I bought won't let the Jeep belt click in

I got it from seatbeltextenderpros.com

I got on the chat and they helped me select the correct one for the center seat. If I can find a part number I'll post it later, otherwise the chat function worked for me! I just got this yesterday and my oldest has not tried it out yet but it should make life easier

Awesome yea, I'm trying to get to the point where they can all buckle themselves, getting close! I'm sure your 3 love riding in the back like mine. Such a fun vehicle for the family.

I suggest you consider the fact that kids are filthy awful creatures who don't care about how nice and clean you want to keep it. I speak from experience of having 2 girls who are now 5 and 7, and have been living the Jeep life for 2 years now.

I cannot recommend this enough: go with the option that you can remove easily, like the full bench layover style. You will thank the stars when you end up washing it twice a year. Or even just take it out to shake it. Permanent Fitted seat covers are also great, but I have two issues with them:
  1. Not easily removed to wash or shake out. I at least do a shake after a beach trip.
  2. Since the seat and the back are 2 separate fitted pieces, it allows for all the particles to slip right through the seat, into the food collection bucket hiding underneath. It's a gross surprise to find a that McDonald's French fry NEVER gets moldy. WHYYYYY?
The one I bought is no longer available on Amazon, so I'm sorry I don't have a link. But there are many more just like it which have already been shared here and I have never had an issue with all three seat belts or using the latch system.

Tips on the car seats:
At one point, I had two of the Graco 4Ever seats in there which are gigantic. The latch system is definitely a PIA in the Gladiator in particular due to how the seat goes up against the back wall. But that has nothing to do with the covers.

I have one tip and hopefully I can articulate this: When the seat is secured into place and you are ready to tighten up the belt that goes to the rear LATCH, the Jeep seat can pinch the belt, and makes it very difficult to pull to tighten. So I grab the strap in a way where I can use my wrist like fulcrum and apply tension as I release the Jeep seat back a couple inches. I tighten, and slam the seat back again. Repeat a few times until the LATCH strap is tight. Then I do the seat belt through the child seat afterwards.

To undo, work backwards on those steps. Release seat belt first so the child seat can swing forward a bit. release the Jeep seat enough so you can reach behind and find the strap tensioner, and bend it away so it releases. Then undo the hook.

Like I said, it's a major PIA with the Gladiator, but it does work.
