Is it possible to install a jump seat that would effectively convert the front seats into a bench seat so that a smallish human could fit between driver and passenger? I have searched here and the JL forum and not found anything, so i'm wondering if there is some constraint that makes it impossible?

The two levers and giant console in the center. Even if you removed the center console there's no place for feet to go due to the shifter layout.

Also no place to anchor a seat belt.

That would take some re-engineering of the trans and transfer case shifters, the cupholders would go bye bye, literally all 4 of them, and the human would need to be so unbearably small for you to all fit up there that you might as well just get a full size truck.

I would think if you could figure out a way to move the trans shifter....one could put a seat equivalent in size of the back seats up front. I'm wanting to do the same thing with my JL but I haven't figured out a clean way to relocate the shifter...yet. Maybe do a Dodge Ram shifter dash knob?

One great thing is the trans shifter is just a CAN device... so if you extend the wiring harness you can put it anywhere you want.. there are no physical linkages to the trans.

The handbrake and transfer case shifter are a different story though.
