Hey everyone! I'm moving to North Idaho, Moscow/Lewiston area to be exact. I know very little about the area. Always looking for an opportunity to go wheelin'. Any suggestions would be welcome!

Spent some time in Idaho the last couple years. Amazing trails. Look on onyx they will show you a bunch of trips. Also, you are very close to Washington and Oregon. Same thing , tons of trips and trails. I am jealous that you are in Idaho, my dream is moving to Idaho although further north than lewiston.

I just saw this post, and seems you didn’t get any response. I live in the area and there are a ton of trails in North Idaho. OnX off-road is a great source. Examples:

- Slate Creek that goes from Wallace to Avery…or reverse direction
- Denver Creek near Kellogg
- Bald Mountain Trail north of Sandpoint
- Athol to Wallace cross country trip. I built my own tracks for this route, as one doesn’t exist, but not that hard to use OnX Snap routing tool.
- In your area there is the Lolo motorway. I’ve done this on motorcycles and jeeps…epic both directions.
- Macgruder Corridor from Elk to Darby, Montana. 105 miles without any gas or side trails, as this trail splits two wilderness areas…felony to drive off this road very far on either side except in just a few specific areas. The fire lookout is a great side route that is up and back (see picture)
- Avery to Shefoot mountain summit. Used to be more difficult, but still a cool trail.
- Elk, Idaho to Burgdorf Hotsprings…another epic adventure, but you need to plan on camping
- Hells Canyon Adventure Trail…370 miles…starts at the bottom of White Bird Hill.

Lots and lots more options, just spin up OnX and start following the dirt road or use the Snap Routing tool before you leave home. I also use Overland Trail Guide to find epic trips, and hoping to do the Great American Outback Trail this summer…2400 miles. You are a lucky to in the vicinity of so many epic adventures…and my list hasn’t even scratched the surface.
