Pretty annoying that the center screen erupts in blinding brightness when you shut the truck down. Really hurts the old eye-balls. Hack?

Hit the power button to the radio before shutting off?

So, I'm training myself to press the "screen off" button before shutting down. At startup, the screen reverts to the default "on" position. It's a little thing, but the list of "little things" is getting a bit long.

I found you can dim the display with the roll switch on the left side of the steering wheel to a 'nighttime' mode. When you start the vehicle, the 'nighttime' mode is still on. Roll the switch back up to increase the light on the display.

Don't look at the screen when you turn the truck off?

The screen dimming is done in night mode, which is when the lights are on. Most of us leave the switch in the Auto position, which shuts off the lights and night mode when the truck is turned off. You could try using the On position, instead of Auto, and see if that helps. I don't know if the truck will automatically turn off the lights after you lock it, so it's just one more thing to remember to do.

I don’t care about when it shuts down, but it sure is a problem when I’m trying to reverse.
