For anyone who doesn't have a roof top tent yet like us. We found an air mattress bigger than twin at 44 inches wide and 80 inches long with a tent of similar size and we had no issues sleeping in the bed.

OBX is a great place to vacation and live. From your beach pictures I guess you are on South (Frisco) Beach and camping on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. We have a vacation home on Hatteras Island in Avon and spend around five months a year at the beach. My Hydro Blue JT MT Sport S has a personalized registration plate "OBX JEEP." Keep an eye out for two others on the island, one Sting Gray Diesel and another Sport S Max Tow in Blue. Just a couple of quick "what to do" suggestions. Avon pier is a fun place to visit. $1.00 to take a stroll on the pier an drink the $1.00 PBRs or Busch Light. Climb the CH Lighthouse. Go to Teach's Lair around 4:00 pm to watch the Sport Fishing Fleet bring their catch to the docks. You can take the free 45 minute ferry ride to Ocracoke. Pop's Raw Bar (Buxton)and Oceanis Bistro (Avon) are good places to eat at reasonable prices. Sunsets on the sound are spectacular. Folks on the island are friendly and the beach villages have a small town flavor. Be careful!!! The Outer Banks can get you hooked a laid back island life-style (pristine beaches, cheap drinks, water sports, fishing, traffic-free roads, nice weather, cool breezes, and nice people.

Good eye we were at Frisco. I will definitely take note as wife and I definitely plan in going back. We wanted to take the ferry to Ocracoke but we didn't have enough time today to get back home at a reasonable time and get ready for work.

That is a typo my friend. Sorry for that. The bed between the wheel wells is 44 inches. Our mattress was 40 inches wide. I am pretty sure that's what I was thinking of when typing.

It was 90 degrees with no wind or shade at our site. It was a great experience but not one I'm willing to repeat in the summer.

We just got back from there a week ago.

I go to OBX 2x per year. This is at Rodanthe. The shade is called "Shibumi shade." It was invented by 3 UNC grads. Got another trip coming up in October. We bring a chef to cook all the meals.
