My side mirrors (just the plain power ones, not the fancy collision detection ones) started working intermittently after a collision with my passenger side front area (dented panel, door was ok). Now it's stopped working. The wire's are plugged in, the fuse is fine. I finally got it into a Jeep dealership and they reported that the Power Distribution module is not working. As in when their tech plugs in his tool he can't get them to move at all. They're wanting about $900 for the part and $400 for the labor. Nope.

Oh and I took this to a new dealership service center, my usual one was booked out for a month and a half to even get it looked at. This new dealership, which is supposed to be the best/most popular Jeep dealership in town (there are 4), is TERRIBLE.

Before I have to try and fight with my own insurance company to fix it (at-fault driver did not have insurance) or file an "extended warranty" claim, does anyone have any similar experiences?

The accident is probably on record against your VIN. Dealership will claim fault is due to accident and extended warranty will deny you.
Get it repaired through insurance under previous accident claim (hidden damage) and then after the repair it will be covered again.

Either way is a fight and a pain, but go after the one that is actually responsible, the accident.

I had not thought of the associated VIN and accident. Hmmmm

The problem is the dealership wont say it is due to the accident. Insurance company sounds like they are willing to play ball, they just need to talk to the dealership to see why they think the module is needing replacement (ie what tests did they do) and if it COULD be collision related (dealership told me it could be, uncertain).

The extended warranty is through my insurance company, if it is not collision related it is a failed part, I will try to get them to pay one way or another, preferably under the uninsured motorist claim as it's already open
