I've seen a few people recently mention the LEXEN ceramic tint that's available pre-cut for the JT.

I have NO interest in a roll of film, I'm hardly even interested in the pre-cut task but it does look pretty easy.

Has anyone tried the above or a similar pre-cut, DIY apply tint? What did you use? How did it go? Tool tips?

Never tried it but now you have me curious. I would only do the two front to match up with the back myself. Looking forward to see if anyone has experience with this particular.

If I wasn't still waiting on delivery I'd probably just spend the $40 and give it a go. From what I remember of tinting my car in HS the cuts were the hard part. I didn't have problems with bubbles or the other crap we see out there, just ugly cuts.

Two front windows are $17, precut pieces for all six door glass are about $35. I may give it shot when I have more time next month.

A few drops Johnsons baby shampoo into a spray bottle of distilled water and spray everything woth it. The glass, the door, your hands. Anything that tint can touch. Helps if you have someone to help.
As for tools, a good 8” rubber squeegee and a small plastic tool.
Clean the glass and surrounding area well. Roll the window down about an inch. Then spray it all down with the tint film solution. Then squeegie it clean (this removes the lint and dust).
Then spray the glass and the tint as you pull off the backing. Keep it all wet. Aligh the top edge, then woth the plastic tool work it under the rubber glass trim.
Squeegie out the water, from under the film, then roll ip the glass and finish working out bubles.
Helps if you have a heat gun at this step to get it set.

Ive done a few, the JT is pretty easy as it’s quite flat and square. It isn’t hard, but you’ll make a few mistakes to start. So get a second set, and start with the passenger side :)

Plenty of YouTube vids as well.

But got good results with the Lexan kit at 25%. Just did it, so nothing more to say. But that tint did apply very nicely and was pretty easy to work with as far as films go.

Does the 25% match the existing tint on the back windows well? Essentially, which visibility percentage matches best? Thanks!

I believe it's 15 or 20 that matches factory tint best. Some companies only have a 15 or a 20 but not usually both and from what I've seen they seem to be basically the same.

I am considering doing this myself. I know someone that does it fairly cheap, but lately its kind of hard to get a date with them and it honestly doesnt look too hard to do a DIY.
