I am interested to see what direction you ended up taking. I am seriously contemplating the Prolific Audio Sony option. I currently have a Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX and the associated kit that I had in a JLU Wrangler. I just traded that for a Gladiator, so I am trying to decide if I should just stick with the Pioneer and just install it, or sell it and buy the Prolific setup.

I haven't done anything yet. Changing out my radio is really low on my list. Trying to finish up my flush tail lights right now. I will probably have them done in the next month or so.

But let me know on the that Sony unit as that has been the cleanest look for a larger screen upgrade I have found. If it wasn't 2 grand I would probably consider it more but man thats a hefty price for a radio. I don't know if there is even a streaming service that would take advantage of the sound quality it is suppose to produce.

It is also really hard to justify it over the Stinger (older) when you can find the Heigh10's for around $700.

I agree, it is a hefty price. A large part of that cost is around the modifications and custom mounting they developed for the Sony units so they can fit the Jeep. That specific Sony ES unit is not much more expensive than any of the others options out there. In fact, the Pioneer I have now is around the same price. That is what makes me hesitate. The Pioneer isn't a bad unit and it actually looks pretty good in the dash, it just has a couple small quirks that keep me looking at other options. I suspect I will end up putting that in for now - I have a few different things I am working towards at the moment that I think I would rather spend the money on. I guess a part of me was looking for someone who could push me over the edge to buy the Sony :)

As to the Stinger, I have never been a big fan of the looks. To me it looks out of place. Early on, I read about others who had the unit and ultimately were not entirely happy with it after the "newness" wore off and they had used it some. I don't recall the specific details as it was a while ago, but once I heard that and combined with the fact that I don't care for the looks I decided it wasn't for me. It is possible whatever those issues were could be solved by now. I see a lot of them out there so they must be pretty decent. No doubt though, the Sony is one of the better looking ones!
