Sony XV900 (x2) party speaker instead of dedicated audio system?

I drive with doors and roof off for 6 months out of the year, and my rear seat is deleted. Im concerned about putting a very expensive audio system in the truck. I'm thinking about getting 2 Sony XV900 BlueTooth Party Speakers and making a box for them that can fit in the truck bed. This will let me remove them when I don't want to take any risks, and also leaves the factory system intact.

Has anyone ever done anything like this before? Any ideas as to how well this may work?

I thought about doing something for music out the back. Have you thought about utv systems? They may fit better.
