I can't speak to the process of getting permits required by a particular state or city for commercial purposes. I do know a majority of them (permits) came about strictly out of money generation thanks to the pandemic and all the people who took their drones out while living their on screen "van life." Like many things today, the process and cost was also put in as a deterrent (privilege tax) to deter those careless people from doing dumb stuff with their drones.Yep- I went intentionally to the minipro 4 because of the 249... and I run the regular batteries, they have warning to not buy or use the extended batteries if you want to stay that way. Being near animals all the time in MT- it would seem that it should be clear to all not to approach them with a drone... we have Bison petting season coming up soon- you would think people would know better, but its real.
Thank you for the sites... I think it is important to not fly in restricted space.
I understand there are many more restrictions on monitized channels too- in some cases you are not even allowed to take a photo without a permit. There are roads in Utah now that are signed that you cannot use photograpy equipment without a permit if you are gettign paid anything for it.
My drone will always just be hobby related.
My videos on youtube have been around almost 12 years- never monitized.
I think getting the permits and such might be a real pain... anyone ever do it? Besides the cost, what information do they want from you- to fly a drone or take a picture in public lands if you have a paid channel?
