I'm very interested in getting a Diamondback bed cover... in the process of saving up.

I'd like to ask those of you who have them on your JT, or previously had them on other vehicles: have you had any issues with water getting into/ staying in and freezing up in, points like your hinges, locks, or the drain area of the center fixed section that supports the hinges? Weatherstripping freezing to tops of bedside rails?

Reason I ask is that where I am in VT, we are unfortunately getting less of the classic "powdery snow followed by blue sky" and more and more of freezing rain, sleet, or heavy rain followed by very sudden drop in temperature that seems especially effective at getting ice onto and even _into_ things.

I probably will go with the Diamondback product even if I hear that others of you have run into icing- but I'd welcome being able to know in advance whether or not it is likely to happen. Thanks

We've been getting the same mess down here. Rain or sloppy snow followed by quick temperature drops. Yuck.

I have a Diamondback on my JTR. I did experience the locks freezing after going to the car wash in single digit temps. Otherwise Diamondback recommends applying Armorall to the weatherstripping and the tops of the bed rails/tailgate. I have reapplied the Armorall a couple times this winter but I haven't had any issues getting into the bed/opening the cover. I think as long as you keep any eye on it and reapply some sort of lubricant to the weatherstripping and bed rails that you will be ok.
