I, like many of you, have been having some issues with loose steering and my radio looking like a 80's TV with bad antennas. I actually captured my radio malfunctioning on video so I scheduled it to be seen at my dealer for warranty work.
I stopped in yesterday to show the service manager my videos of the problem and he said they didnt need them for now. I asked why and he said because FCA has actually released several updates for the JT radios that are designed to correct my issue, and a slew of others.
When I asked about my steering I fully expected to get the run around and same response a LOT of members seem to have gotten with their dealers. He said that my drag link was loose and they ordered me another one to be installed today as a warranty fix. Makes me wonder if others on here who experience "sawing" with the steering wheel have the same problem and just dont know it.
Moral of the story...give the dealer a shot. I know some people have very negative opinions of their dealers and have been told to pound sand when they complain. I also know that some folks on here have reported that their dealers cant/wont fix their concerns. Im glad I take all of those threads with a grain of salt since typically people who have issues come to the forums to look for guidance. Making it appear as if every one is having problems. I am fortunate that my dealer has always done good by me and they are correcting my issues. If your having problems it may be an inconvenience to have the dealer look, but it may also pan out to be the right choice.
I dont have the JT back so who knows if the problems are fixed. But at least now they are documented as known problems with my vehicle and will continued to be corrected after the initial warranty is over, if they persist.
