So I've gotten plenty of mixed opinions in regards to upgrading to RCV Axles in Canadian Winter climate. It's been very mixed to be honest. I'd like to hear from anyone that's got experience running them in their Jeeps, Toyota, Fords, etc. Mine would be a Daily Driver and any feedback from people that owned them is welcome. Please do not comment if you don't actually have experience with them in a vehicle you've owned.

I’ve ran RCVs in my JK with PR44 and Reid’s Since May of 2010. If you run them in -40 the orange boots may split. I’ve had to replace 2 on 2 separate winters. I try not to drive it when it’s below -30.
Other than that replaced the balls and cage once because the clicking was bothering me.

I’ve ran RCVs in my JK with PR44 and Reid’s Since May of 2010. If you run them in -40 the orange boots may split. I’ve had to replace 2 on 2 separate winters. I try not to drive it when it’s below -30.

Have you any issues with them being muddy and freezing?? I honestly thought the negative opinions I've received have been unfounded, saying they get filled with mud and seize up or freeze up in cold temps. It's my daily driver and will be for many years. A protective boot splitting and needing to be replaced sounds minor to me...

I didn’t drive it in winter for 5 years, just started winter use 3 years ago again to get to work. Use Wifey’s Gladiator when it’s real cold and she’s not using it.
I have the Dynatrac ball joints so the clearance is real tight. I guess it could be an issue but I don’t winter wheel and I’m not a big fan of mud anymore.
I think those boots are $80 if I remember. Not bad to change in heated garage but not something I want to do every winter.
