Rear axle locker engaging automatic

While driving on the freeway at 70-75 mph, the rear axle locker light on the dashboard of my Jeep activated and the button began flashing. Despite the light, the vehicle felt normal. I pulled over to try turning it off, but the light continued to flash. After driving another 1/4 mile, the light turned off, but it came on and off intermittently a few more times. Once home, I checked online forums and drove around without the light reactivating. I inspected the rear axles but lack maintenance experience. I read that fixing the Z sensor might be easier than replacing the axle at a dealership and plan to visit AutoZone to have the sensor checked. Any advice?

A common issue.
It's a failing sensor.
You can ignore it, replace the sensor, or install a device (externally, so no draining) to correct the false signal.

If it's under warranty, go that route.
Autozone won't do anything for you.

Much appreciated ill get the sensor and replace. Not under warranty so ill get the z sensor and call it a day.

I just had this happen to me at 10000 I took it to the dealer and they replaced the solenoid as it was faulty now it is fine under warranty
They said the only other thing would be the Adel’s and also u see warranty but there is a seal on the solenoid that can leak onto the connectors inside and that is what happened to me .
