Going to be making the journey shortly to pick up some lightly used 37's on Rockstar wheels. Super stoked (minus the upcoming 8hr round trip for them) because i think i got a great price on them and i've never had anything bigger than 33's in my Jeeping life!

Couple questions:
  1. I've read that i need to air down the spare slightly to get it to fit in the stock location. Anything else besides that to make it fit and stay secure there?
  2. The new tires/wheels come with TPMS already in them. Will they just automatically sync with my JTR when i install them or do i need to do something special?
  3. The tires are 37x12.5 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on 20" wheels (not sure how wide the rockstar rims are). What seems to be the ideal air pressure to run something like that at?
  4. Will 5 of these tires fit in the back of my JTR?! Pretty sure i've seen photos of you guys hauling yours home from the store before.

TPMS will depend on which generation they are. Jeep switched in early 21 I believe. They'll have to match.

Fit in the bed can be a simple matter of mathematics. Everything's a known measurement. Take some ratchet straps.

Buying blind and not knowing the offset? Well that could get interesting.

The cutoff is 6/2021 for the gladiator so I imagine the wranglers carry the same. Seeing as how you have a 2020, if the sensors installed in the wheels came off a JL prior to that date, then you should be good. I am going to confirm here shortly when I get my rock trixs/35's installed, but I have read that they program automatically, just toss them on and drive. If the wheels came off a newer jeep, then youll have to swap your sensors in.

Worst case on transportation, bring a jack and put them on, then put your 33's in the bed. Ive moved a set of five 33's in the bed with tailgate closed and no straps, so I know thats possible. I feel like you could likely get away with tailgate down and a couple straps.

FWIW, gas is expensive. Assuming you get 18mpg and average 50mph, an 8hr trip is something like 22 gallons of gas. At 3.65, that's 80 bucks in fuel, plus your time. In the past, I've made trips like that, but not sure I would these days. Now having a 6 month old, I have to put a dollar amount on my time. I havent quite figured what that amount is, but ill give an example. It takes me 2 hours to mow my 3 acre lot. This past summer, I didnt have the time and paid a neighbor 40 bucks plus a 12pk of beer to do it for me. That equates to something like 55 bucks for two hours of his time. I would have gladly paid him a bit more, but we can make the assumption that my time is worth around 30/hr. 8hrs is a full day event, or 240 bucks of my time. I am not trying to talk you out of going, but for me, thats ~300 bucks in fuel and my time. Makes it a lot easier if you can entice the fella to meet you for some additional money. All that said, if its what you want and the deal is really that good, then def go for it!

So if its was a June or later build, the TPMS sensors will be different and need to be swapped out.

Ask the seller to look at the sticker in the driver door jam, the production date will be there

They came off an unlimited so i know they'll fit, but i believe he said they were a -18 offset
Granted I'm relatively new to Jeeping, but I've never heard of any factory wheels having a negative offset. Mojaves and Rubicons are both 7.5" wide with +37.17 (Mojave) or +40something on Rubicons. I'm guessing these are aftermarket wheels. That's not a bad thing though - extra clearance for larger tires is a good thing.

Congrats on your new boots - show 'em off when you get home!

That's what i thought ya'll meant by poke, but just wanted to confirm. I actually hope they stick out a bit, even though there's the negative results of doing that, i do like the look of a slightly wider stance on the gladiators to balance them out.

Custom Offsets...that's a stone throw away from my house! They rigs i see rolling around my neighborhood are ridiculous!! Mostly mall crawlers or rice burners. Even more sickening when you see the 16 year kid driving them and i'm a grown man with a good job and I don't have fancy stuff like that!! Sorry, off my soapbox now!

The seller just confirmed his build date was 3/2021 and they obviously worked on his Jeep. So we should be golden!

Thankfully i'll be exhausted from driving when i get home so i won't be tempted to swap tires out in the dark at midnight in my driveway....but i'll be up bright and early i bet!!
