Need some one advise for my Gladiator. I performed the remote start first time today and It did not work. I tried few time and this message show up on my dashboard: "Remote start Disable - Press Start to reset". I tried to press Start button and nothing happened; the care just stuck. the dash light, the doom roof and dock lock and open are all working. I can even charge my phone and my phone show Android auto is connected but the radio screen is off. I tried to jump start by my friend car and the tow truck but it did not help. the car just stuck and no thing show up on the dash.

I ran ODB2 scan and the only code I get it U1517-87 Body Controller Secret Code - Missing message. I had to tow it back to my house and wait for service on Monday.

Does anyone have this issue? Thanks for advice. all lights are work and no code and no engine light.
Update: both Batteries are all good.

You did put your foot on the brake and had the FOB you tried to remote start with inside the cab when you pressed the Start button?

The Remote Start only responds twice and then the truck has to be started using the Start Button to reset it.

Since this is the first time trying it, you may have some issues the dealer needs to resolve.

As already said - you tried so often it disabled it and now you must try to start it from inside before it will work again.

There's not going to be a "gee, I had this and this is how you fix it" - doesn't usually work that way on modern vehicles. Could be any number of things, like wiring issues, CANbus issues, radio died, fuse blown, or other problems.

If you've had the doors off and have a connector issue - or if the hood was open when you tried, that can disable remote start, as can a few other things.

Thanks for yr reply. I did try that too. Still no luck. After it showed "remote start disable ..." everything just stop. Only cluster and roof light on.

Thanks. I am not concern about remote start anymore. At this point, the car not even start by pressing the start button. :(

You can try a System Reboot and see if it helps any. Disconnect both batteries for about 10 minutes. If you have the 8.4 Uconnect head unit, it will take up to 24 hours to return to normal.

I'd try disconnecting all battery grounds from the main battery and the IBS. Leave for 30-40 minutes.
While it's disconnected, if you've ever had the doors off check the connectors for them.
Check them anyway if it's used.

Also while it's off, pull fuse F42 and check your other fuses.

After the wait period is up reconnect the main battery ground, but leave the AUX battery ground disconnected and isolated to prevent incidental contact.

Leave the F42 fuse out.

Make sure you have the fob present, doors closed, hood down, and try starting. If it works leave it like that until the dealer gets it. Tell them what you did.

Thank you so much, you and the other member save me a lot of time and $$$$. I just disconnect the ground and wait for 10min. everything is back now. Thanks again
