I just do not like the red hooks on my Gator Rubicon. Removing them should be easy, unlike the front hooks.
There is a thread here for non-Rubicon models and I tried removing the hooks without the bumper. I looked at the as well.
To remove the Rubicon bumper and hooks:
T50 Torx
15, 16, 21 mm sockets
Flathead screwdriver for license plate.
Trim plug plastic removal tool
There are #4 16mm nuts on the bumper studs that come through rear frame.
There are #2 T50 Torx bolts on bottom of bumper that go into the hitch.
There are #4 15mm bolts that hold rock rail rear corners onto bumper.
There are #3 wire harness connectors to undo. One on passenger rail, one on driver rail, and the hitch plug on the bumper. Loosen the wire retainer Xmas trees from frame.
Loosen the #6 15mm bolts that hold the rear rock rail corners to the frame. It will allow the bumper to slide off easier and allow you to realign the bolts for reassembly. Failure to do so may lead to cross-threading one of the bolts and then having to run a die over it and use a M10x1.5 tap to clean the frame nut-sert (on the passenger side lower bolt thank you).
This the passenger side 15mm bolts from the rock rail that go into the bumper. Yup, I boogered that bottom one but cleaned it up right using Tap and Die set.
Loosen these 3 on each side using a 15mm socket to make it a lot easier to re-install.
Here is one of the wire connectors to unplug
I like the way it looks without the hooks. I have a hitch mounted shackle from Factor 55. https://factor55.com/product/hitchlink/
T50 Torx from bumper to hitch.
Same plug on driver's rail, but more of those plastic Xmas trees.
16mm nuts (2 on each side of bumper). There are 2 more to remove under license plate.
