I am currently running 35x12.5x17 Falken MTs on OEM wheels. The tires are rated to have a minimum of 8.5" wide wheels, and OEM are 7.5". Enough folks got theirs to run fine so I did it too. Works fine. Love the look and the bulge! But, I'm reading that it causes extra wear from the narrowness of the wheel and I do have to run them at 28-30psi to get even contact on pavement. Recently had a chance to get a set of Quadratec CJ retro wheels for $125!

They look good. But their offset is only 11, which means their backspacing will be 5.18 compared to 5.98 and they will stick out about 3/4" more (https://www.customwheeloffset.com/tire-wheel-backspacing-offset-calculators)
So, the tires as they are now stick out less than 1/4" I'd say. The new wheels will make the tires stick out 1", which I know has it's downsides of throwing rocks, salt, etc. But, it's either that or wear out the tires more, right?
How does it look though?
