Ok, this has been in my head for awhile and I would like your input. A friend just bought a new Mustang GT Roush monster with the Coyote engine and a ton of electrical goodies to record all go fast activities. One thing that caught my attention was the recorded air temperature coming from censors in the air filter in box and another captured number was the temperature at the throttle body. The temperature difference was my interest. The goal is how to keep that air as cool as possible before it reaches the throttle body. Nitrous would be the extreme fix for this temperature hunt. Ok, now to my JT, which I have to say the 3.6 gasser is one of the hottest temp running engines I‘ve ever been around. So as a test I have had some HVAC 12 mil aluminum foil back with high temperature adhesive up to 325 degrees before it melts. Reflective temp on the foil is 2K. The test is simple, wrap both intake tubes from the air box to TB. i wrapped both rigs and will be using the Mustangs censors to do the math. Oh the foil is $24 per roll at Home Depot. I’lI update this post as we collect numbers from the Mustang. Any thoughts?Show us your newest (most recent) Jeep add-on!
