First post, and new Jeep Gladiator owner. Second Week and I'm in deep.

On my search for Tonneau covers I came across SMARTOP, they are a South African company distributed in the US by RuggedBound and TourTopcovers. They officially launched at SEMA in '22.

The top competes with Diamondback (security and top load functionality) and FrontRunner (T-Slot loading method and accessories) which kind of explains the price and almost seems reasonable.

Does anyone have any experience with their Bed cover? Pics if you have them please.

Also, please share install experience, and real world use experience, advantages and disadvantages etc.

I just saw them for the first time at the Overlanding show in Pomona this weekend. Very nice looking option and I'm seriously considering it. Which direction did you wind up going?

I've been looking at this cover pretty hard too, but there's not much info available from real world users. It seems great. I'm just not 100% sold on the clam shell style.

There was this concept called an XTop that rises vertically that makes more sense to me. The Philippines has the Topup or Topflip which seems pretty awesome.

I am interested in moving from a soft roll up cover to a hard cover or topper for added security. This cover has caught my attention as well. Any update on your purchase?

It hasn't arrived yet. I plan on taking some pics and describing my experience once I get it installed. It should be dropped as a pallet on my driveway sometime tomorrow.

I think the original poster was seeking information on it. It's a pretty new product with limited real user reviews. It's supposedly been in South Africa for awhile, but those guys aren't on the internet talking about it.

I purchased one a few weeks ago. It is exactly what I was looking for and overall very happy with it. I like the little bit of extra beef it give the back end of the truck and your can't beat the practicality of it. Agree that it was really hard to find out much about the "top" or the company. Hopefully they start getting the word out, because I think it will be a great solution for a lot of us. Here are a few pics I took today. I have a number of items I plan to add but thought I would share what I have for now.

I purchased mine used. I love this thing. I have to use some silicone to seal it. I get a bit of water at the cab end. What type of paint are you using to patch it up a bit.
