I am wondering why the top don’t do back all the way like on a Wrangler
Like if I’m supposed to have a tonneau cover that really can’t fold anymore forward why don’t the soft top go al the way back.
I am curious if the roll bar behind the plastic has the same holes for the bracket mount as the Wrangler

Actually I guess the tracks along the top would have to be changed as well

It was done on purpose so not to interfere with whatever is in the bed (thats kind of the idea of a truck) When I go camping, I have my motorcycle or mini bike in the back, so no bueno on the top going down to the top of the bed. It's a perfect design for the Gladiator. Release two latches on the windshield, push the front of the top up while going about 5mph, and boom, topless, with no interference to the cargo area.

Oh I understand the no interference thing but why don’t you get the choice Of the sun rider or full open positions like with the Wrangler. I would of enjoyed it a lot more this summer

I get ya, so there are some great after market tops, a sunshade by mopar that you can leave on under the factory soft top, and Best top makes a convertible for just the front seats when you opt for the hard top. Personally my favorite configuration is, top on doors off, but that’s just me. I hope you enjoy your truck and I hope you can find a top that you like to ride around with, it is nice to have the perfect top, I get it.

I have both the soft and hard top. I Have heard many talk about they don’t like how the soft top looks when open or closed or either. Personally, I didn’t care for the look of it in the open position at first myself. Closed I thought it was fine a bit safari like but not bad. Now, the look doesn’t bother me in either position. However, if anyone finds themselves not liking it the entire top comes off with 4 bolts. I suppose you could only use two bolts to secure it and reduce removal to only taking out 2 bolts. Then the entire top could be off quickly. Just a thought. I think the top as it is with the back window out is pretty darn nice especially with the doors off and the convenience of quickly buttoning it up if a rain shower pops up is pretty nice. Anyway, that’s my thoughts on it.
