Having some trouble ordering my JTJL. Build tool on the Jeep site lets me do everything I want but my dealer says it keeps blocking him. I'm trying to get the basic 5" Uconnect3 and that seems to be the/a problem. He tells me his rep with Jeep says they are not going to build any Gladys with 5" screens..? If I'm reading it right, latest issue of order guide(8.6.20) still shows it as standard equipment.
The configuration preview he sent me has the popular equipment package, which would explain the upgrade to the 7" screen, but for some reason he's telling me that's the only option. I wonder if there is some other part of my build that is requiring the pop equip pkg? Attaching the pdf build summary in case anyone cares to glance and see if any conflicts jump out at you- would appreciate any help.
Side note- he's also saying that we'd have to get the body color fenders, but I don't see what would be causing that either.
I realize the build tool is for 2020's and we're talking about a 2021 order, maybe new equipment/options requirements? Also, would love to know if my issues are maybe Wuhan related and temporary- just be patient and keep trying?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Interesting. I was fine with the idea of a smaller screen with fewer features, but the 7" was what was in the truck I bought off the lot so I took it. I'm glad I did. It's great for running WAZE from my iPhone directly on the Uconnect screen, while my phone shows my streaming Pandora screen. I didn't realize I would like that as much as I do.

I hear ya, guess I'm old school. Drove a rental wrangler the other day with the 5" and really liked it's simplicity. It's more about the climate controls than the radio. I feel climate control technology peaked with the rotary knob for hot to cold mixture, knob for fan and knob for floor to dash mixture, push button a/c on and off... what else is needed? See no point in dual zone climate control, this is not a big cabin, and really dislike some of the climate controls in the radio and vice versa.
I've had Carplay in my Suburban for the last few years and have no use for it, only a source of frustration. Try to play a voicemail and playlist suddenly starts, etc, etc. Just as soon have a phone mount for my Waze and simply bluetooth the hands free phone and music over.
If anyone can definitively state the future availability of the Uconnect3, I'd appreciate it.

My 5" screen is horrible. It takes like 4 seconds just to turn on after hitting the button. Maybe they can fix the horrible lag with a software update.

The popular equipment package includes the freedom 3 piece top and trailer tow and convince for $1595.
you have the 3 piece top and tow package adding up to $1,645
Maybe it’s defaulting to the lower price package.
it’s cheaper and you get more.
that’s how I’m seeing it.

Before I ordered my 2021 I noticed in the July order guide posted here that body color fender flares are standard on the Sport S for the new model year. The build tool on Jeeps' website must still be set up for 2020 models and not reflecting the change. Maybe same for the 5" screens?
