Starrskream’s 2023 gloss black Rubicon “Thor”

Been going a tad crazy in the last two weeks. I figure it’s time for some pics!
Here’s where it all began! 43 miles on the odometer!

drove it home and then it began!
We’ll, first I had to get the key fob home…

then I started modding lmao
First up was a full set of dv8 door pocket molle panels.

added some graphics.

The Oscar Mike badge is something I started with my KL. Being a vet I think it’s a pretty cool badge.(from the Oscar Mike jeep). And the story about my pap. So I carried it over to this jeep.

Now I got some fender flare extensions…
Front was great…and then the back…yeah that sucked lol.

Got these off Etsy, pretty awesome to add to the jeep Easter egg.

saw this next one on another jeep. Didn’t feel like paying that much for a steel plate. Found a plastic one on Amazon, added some extra 3m tape. The star is from Etsy, 6” size. This one I really liked how it came out. When you back away a couple feet the star sort of disappears.


then a really exhaustive search for a tray to put under the seat for a little extra storage. (I have a thread on this one.)


more molle panels, and a tonneau. Both from rough country. The panels are a work in progress. Cleaning to the left and tools on the right. Still more arranging to do here.
Pro tip, do the Molle panels before the tonneau. The last attachment point for the panels is smack behind the clamps for the tonneau rails.


These were a cool Amazon find. If you get some test fit first, they have specific sides they line up with.

Here I am now, 538 miles and I gotta say. This is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. My first brand new vehicle at 46…zero regrets.
At least 100 smiles per gallon and counting.

Just installed the inside overhead panel.
https://a.co/d/5nIlQNj. Not bad for 100$. It’s as beefy as the bed molle panels from rough country. This thing is NOT flimsy.
install took maybe 30 mins.

also did mudflaps. The fronts went on fine. I did need to grab 1/4 20 - 1 1/2” bolts nuts and washers to do the rears. I sprayed them black after install. Grade 5 is more than sufficient. I did double up the washers. One on bolt heads and two one nut si

ONLY NESSECARY IF YOU HAVE THE MOPAR FENDER FLARE EXTENSIONS.

big updates!
barricade sliders, tail light blackout, 3rd brake blacked out, bolt hood lock, blackvue 970x plus 2 channel, tail light guards(mostly cosmetic), bed stripes, AFE cai, banks pedal monster, rough country throttle body spacer(I had a 40$ credit at extreme terrain lol) also air design side protection. (tip if you get the air design stuff, Line them up with painters tape, mark with grease pencil where they sit and look level. they are super easy to install, and super easy to make crooked.

coming Monday, AFE Vulcan exhaust, and shortly after some tint.

with the barricade kit, just use the J shaped mounts. The “license plate” looking brackets that mount to the pinch welds do not fit at all. If you have rubicon rails installed.
they’re solid enough for my 300lb 6’6 self to stand on them.

Woof. That rear tailgate thing and the exhaust tips are horrendous. I assume you don’t plan on ever going off-road? Those tips are going to get crushed instantly.

they do need adjusted a bit inward, I just haven't gotten it done yet.
I'm planning to lift it about 3" so yeah. Though, yeah no rock crawling or anything overtly serious. there isn't even any real hard trails around here. Even if they do get crushed, that's the cost of going off road.
You do your jeep your way, I'll do mine my way. keep on jeeping.

Some big updates !
Black horse atlas bar, tinted front windows to 20% ceramic, rear clear ceramic, and back to 35% ceramic JCR rear molle rack installed!(no I did NOT take the back off to install. Just support the brackets with 2x4 and install the ends then the middle. Took maybe 15 mins.

Easy peasy install. Love it.
but damn the weight, you can definitely feel the difference going down the road.

the plastic spacer and front plate bracket were re used. They don’t fit perfect, but they will work until the new ones come in.
