Then I found the Chinese simply bought up a U.S. based UNIT of ZF Friedrichshafen AG and not the company in general. Whew.

They bought only ZF Automotive U.S. Inc. - still, now the Chinese own yet another company that makes automotive parts - and sensitive electronics at that......

Any sizable or sensitive purchase is going to be submitted to CIFUS (or at least should be). My understanding is that CIFUS has stepped up their own investigations on non-notified transactions as well.

If the politicians mean what they say, China is going to have a difficult time in the short term....
