Here are the latest of Maximus dipping his toes in the salt marsh near Rainbow Haven Beach, NS. Great to back in and cool the feet from the tailgate!

Make certain to rinse your lug nuts with fresh water and spray some WD-40 on them. Salt water does corrode.

Maximus is a beauty, and that looks like a killer spot!
But man, seeing that tailgate in the salt marsh makes my 'Ontario rust-anxiety' kick in! Fresh lake water is one thing, but that Atlantic salt water is a different beast entirely. It gets into the crimped seams of the tailgate and the hollow sections of the frame, and even after it dries, the salt crystals keep absorbing moisture from the air to continue the corrosion process.
If you're going to keep doing those salt-water dips, make sure you give the undercarriage and the inside of that tailgate a massive freshwater rinse as soon as you get home. Better yet, hit those hidden spots with some Fluid Film.
Beautiful truck, just want to see it stay that way for a long time! Safe travels out east!

Nice!!
Story time: Did this 1 night while on patrol at Kin Red on Okinawa in a Govt Land Cruiser. Only thing I didn’t realize at the time was there was a pretty good layer of that kelpy seaweed stuff all over the ramp. Went to back out of it after sitting a while and went forward instead of backard. Little bit of pucker factor until the tires warmed up. Younger dumber good times. :like:
