As a former CDL driver, I’d never do it. I always emphasize safety. As others should.
I am not saying it should or shouldn't, just that since the body is two major sections bolted to a frame, the frame is where the strength is. I would think it would be the same with a semi. Power is not distributed into the body like it would be in a unibody platform. I agree that doors and roof on while towing. A jackknife sicario would be a time I would want as much as I could have between me and a loose trailer.

Yeah. I’m talking about the latter. safety in the event of an accident.

That applies towing or not. In which case, never remove the top or doors.
Yeah. I’ve never taken not doors off. Probably never will. My 4th Jeep. I’ve never seen the appeal. I do take the top off. Never when towing or hauling.

I've never taken the doors or hardtop off my JT, but that's because I use my truck like a truck. Also, I don't have a garage, so I can't just park inside when it rains. Plus I have 3 other vehicles that I can run without doors or a roof, and several motorcycles. That said, if I wanted to drive with the doors/roof off, adding a trailer wouldn't make any difference.
