Truxedo quality warning - Just a heads up

So I finally decided on a tonneau cover. The Truxedo Sentry CT. Got an excellent price from Alex @RealTruck who are a forum sponsor.

So the tonneau cover arrived. I was anxious to get it installed so I cracked the box. That's where the honeymoon ended. The seals on both side rails were in pretty bad shape. They were just thrown into the box with no protection and the straps were wrapped tightly around them. There were also scratches on the rails.

Alex put me in touch with Zipporah one of his customer service reps. She got everything taken care of and a new one shipped out to me. She just said send the old one back when the new one arrived.

So the new one arrived and again I was excited to get it installed. Cracked the box open and this one was worse than the first.

Needless to say I'm not going to try a third time. So I am now going with the Undercover Ultra Flex. Zipporah got it to me for the same price I paid for the Truxedo.

Big kudos to Alex @RealTruck and Zipporah at Real Truck for handling both of these problems promptly and without any issues. A highly recommended sponsor.

I'm glad they're willing to keep shipping them to you. This seems to be a recurring issue with tonneau covers arriving with scratches and dings that should be easy enough to prevent if packed correctly.

I admit I was too lazy to send mine back (different company but I suspect they're all made in the same factories anyway). I figure I account for a large % of customers willing to accept a few marks to avoid having to send it back and hope the next one isn't worse.

I miss buying things in stores for this exact reason.

Luckily I didn't unpack everything and destroy the box. All I had to do is tape up both boxes and FedEx picked the up this morning. Easy peasy.
