Uconnect upgrade from 5 to 7

Anybody know what would be involved to go from the 5 to the 7 Uconnect screen? I've got alpine but the jeep on the lot didn't have the larger screen. I'm using my phone for navi so i don't need the 8.4. Just wondering if it was a plug-n-play with a larger unit and different trim part or if it was a unit that would have to be paired to the factory computer. I've seen some stuff on the internet regarding the JL but all going from 7 to 8.4. Thanks,

I think the head unit is coded to the VIN somehow. Infotainment.com sells the upgrades, and physically, it appears easy to swap them out (might need a different dash bezel, too), but won't work unless head unit encoded w/ your VIN....
