Perhaps you’ve already explored this option, but I would imagine that a body shop can likely sand/paint your black/unpainted top for less than the $1500 you’re willing to subsidize the trade with.

yea i figured that was a route i could go but seems like when i went to two reputable body shops they advised against it saying the black textured top after being sanded down and primed would not look the same and you will be able to visually tell the difference in paint depth and contrast from the body of the gladiator so that deterred me going that route

I was actually waiting to see if i ever completed the swap then add headliners to the swapped top. Does yours have liners?

Man, if I had ordered my truck from the factory, Snazz with a black top is what I would have ordered. Not trying to dissuade you or anything, but I friggin love how yours looks right now.
