Montana Use of the rear camera when not in reverse?

My Gladiator is being shipped, but I'm trying to figure out before hand if the rear camera can be turned on and visible while driving forward using the 7" UConnect. Any know if this is possible?

Yes there is camera button on the screen. I have the 8.4 but I’d assume it’s the same on the 7. I use mine often when pulling into my garage to see the rear will miss the garage door. I’ve also used it pulling a trailer to check on the load and trailer connection but when going forward the camera stays on for about 5-10 seconds then shuts up. You can easily turn it back on. I’ve read with the Taser you can set it up to have the rear camera come when you use a blinker to assist with lane changes.

Thanks. Hopefully confirmation from a 7er as well. I'm looking into making my own front view camera where I will flip the image and have a manual switching of the camera wires.

Yes, you can use it in drive. My truck barely fits n the garage, so I use it when parking to know when I will clear the door. Great feature and mine has the 7” screen.
