I wasn’t really posting for carvana advice. I did that and it’s a joke. I am curious what people are seeing on actual trade in and privately selling.
IMHO Carvana is far from a joke. They might (MIGHT!) be below a dealer which knows they’ll put the truck on their lot, but they’re great for auction-destined vehicles due to their lower margins. In any case both my buddy and I have sold Jeeps to them and they’ve been more than fair, in my own case being a few grand ABOVE what private party ASKING PRICES were. That said their whole gimmick is to be data driven and so if they have a surplus of units their pricing can drop quick. I always recommend people check their quotes often as I’ve seen swings of thousands within the same week.

Generally dealerships don't care what you have installed on your Jeep. They are going to give you money like it was a stock Jeep so I would take off anything you installed because at least at the dealership I work they don't care.

Those sites are a joke for trying to get real-world pricing. I tried those sites when I was trying to sell me Chevy instead of trading it. It was always much lower than reality.
Carmax, KBB, Carvana and I tried looking into a couple of other sites and ended up selling my Chevy truck to a dealer for a heck of a lot more.

How are they a joke if that’s an actual value based on your zip code? Would more than like be similar to local trade in values. Private party look up NADA and KBB based on your location.

The market is still volatile and greatly depends on your location and the market in that location. I’m sure the value of 4x4s in the northern states are going up while sport cars are declining in value.
Hardly actual value. $14,000 to a bit over 15,000 for my Chevy and I sold it outright to a dealer for 19K and had private offers of MORE than that.
For a week after my looking at these sites trying to get info - I got emails with jokes for offers. Seriously, I sold that truck for thousands more than any of them would offer.
They were so far off.
If a dealer with higher overhead was willing to pay 19 why did those other jokers lowball it at 14-15 when even the Jeep dealer was higher than that on trade value.

Hate to break it to you OP, but your mods might not add any value to your JT.

I have been seeing that dealers in my area are pricing used Gladiators at or above original MSRP for those with a few thousand miles on them. My estimate is that they paid roughly 15% under that for it. That of course, is also somewhere between a guess and a joke, depending on where you're standing.
You're exactly right on this. That is how I bought my stubby bumper and winch for a song.....

A fella had to sell/trade his Jeep Wrangler recently and they were going to give him zero for the fact that it had an ARB stubby bumper and Warn winch, so he took it off, put on the factory bumper and then saw me in a grocery store parking lot and asked if I was interested in it. He didn't get back what he paid for it, but it was better than zero.

I traded in my 2021 Sport with max tow and a few mods. With 2,500 miles
2" mopar lift
33" tires
New wheels ( Mickey Thompsons)
I paid 35,000 out the door traded it back to same dealer for 42,000
They had it listed for 48,000 then 53,000 now it's gone. Absolutely insane!! I trade up for Rubicon and got a really good deal.

As mentioned it usually has to do with the near market to the vehicle, time of year, current availability, demand, etc.
For example which is very obviously just common sense, if in a highly populated area with a demand for off-road vehicles, the chances are a higher concentration of JT’s than say in NYC. Pricing will probably be quite different. As well you drop $10k of aftermarket parts in your trade,
consider yourself lucky to recoup 30-40%.
Wife’s Jeep dealership just sold a low mileage 6 year old 2 door Wrangler for $4K more than when it was new. There just aren’t many to choose from this time of year.

CarMax has a shockingly accurate online trade in calculator. They had my Mercedes and Lexus F sport correct to the dollar. Give them a shot to see what they would offer on a trade.

As stated, mods will not add any value to your vehicle. From what you stated that you have, I would personally be taking off 90% of what you put on minus the shocks. Id rather make you an offer to put it all back to stock and buy the vehicle that way.

Either way, prob right around 50K with what you have.

Might work sometimes...

I get 1) NADA Private sale,, 2) Edmunds Private sale and 3) an average retail of 6-8 identical models(years, options, miles) off Cars.com or CarGarus and combine and average thos 3 numbers. Good starting point. Used this for many personal sales over the years. You can also use CarFax for their private sale#
