Vinyl wrapped grill?

Has anyone attempted or heard of anyone wrapping a front grill? If yes any info would be welcome. Thanks.

I wrapped a plain black replacement grill for my JLU sport to simulated the look of the headlight and grill inserts. I made the mistake of starting from one end instead of the middle and there was too much distortion in the vinyl by the time I got to the other end. . And for the groove along the sides and bottom was too deep for me to get properly covered.
