So, because I'm apparently a masochist, I'm attempting my own regear. I finished up the front, which took weeks because I have no time for any of the projects I start. Today I started on the rear and as I'm tearing it apart I realized that I never replaced the washer behind the tail bearing on the front differential.

How screwed am I going to be if I ignore this fact?

There is a crush washer on the pinion shaft. The crush washer helps set the torque of the pinion nut, and the gear contact between the pinion gear and the ring gear. You can reuse the crush washer, but it is not advised.
