Weird Metal Piece Found

Hi all,
I am at a loss and trying to figure out if anyone has seen this on their Gladiator. I hit a bump today and noticed on my back seat of my vehicle a metal rod about 2 1/2 inches long (pictures attached). I can't figure out where it came from and it is supposed to be attached to something. I currently have a soft top attached to the gladiator but spent a while and was unable to figure out where is possibly came from.

The design of it looks like it maybe works similar to a watchband, do you have anything that bends/opens on a hinge?

Is the lower end hex by any chance? Looks like it might be a tool.......... I've seen that before - small bits and small tools end up in and behind things and left from the dealer prep or even before that.

Looks like the one end that looks splined. Could have been pressed into something. I've seen a similar design on plastic belting for conveyors

Trim piece for the soft top above the doors has it in. I'll see if I find the exact spot in the morning and take a picture, but I've seen mine partially out a couple times.

Edit: For more location info, front and back of the door frame, outside facing. The two little brackets are connected to the big outer trim piece with those pins.
