I'm going to remove mine too, weight reduction with several other dumb things like the loop pipe off from the drivers side cat, spare tire and unneed spare tire heat shield
I removed my transfercase and front driveshaft, I don't need that weight and negativity in my life

So I removed the bracket. Surprise, surprise the Jeep did not blow up. lol. Seriously no adverse effects and would actually cause more damage on my 3.5" lifted gladiator on 37's in a front end accident.
Old thread but a question. Was it only the two bolts to remove the plate ? Thanks
