Hey Folks,
I'm looking for advice/guidance and simply hoping anyone knows of a way to get a long-delayed part. Here's my story...
Deer jumped out in front of my in early/mid April. Didn't even have time to hit the brakes. It destroyed the grill, radiator, cooling fan, transmission cooler, headlight and fender. Took shop about 5 weeks to fix it. A lot of that time was waiting on a cooling fan.
Got it back and a/c was so so and transmission was whining, so I took it to nearest dealership. Turns out, when trans cooler was destroyed it dumped a bunch of trans fluid out and trans pump ran dry. Dealership says trans pump is no good and they replace the entire transmission, not the pump (the reason for this was explained to me, in detail, by my mechanic brother and it makes sense). Anyway, dealership ordered the pump week of Memorial Day. This is 7 July. Jeep says my case is V.O.R. status but they have no ETA on when they'll get a transmission for me. Is there another route to actually get a part? It seems to me like Jeep is putting transmissions in vehicles everyday...

Took a month for me the get a transmission harness. I dont see an option for your tranny unless they have one on hand they pull from the factory.

Buy a salvaged transmission if you are impatient. Run that until the new one shows up.

Damn, I must've gotten the last tranny in the nation then lol. Mine arrived about 1.5 weeks after ordered. In FL about 1.5 month ago. Had a long block in 2 weeks beginning of the year. Maybe I just lucked out. Now waiting 1 week for a radiator from MI.
