Wire harness behind auto dimming mirror AWG?

I'm planning on tapping into the wires which are behind the small plastic panel behind the auto dimming mirror in order to power my radar detector.
I do have a mirrortap from an old car but none of the ends are long enough to take power from the harness. I have some basic wiretaps but want to make sure I'm using the right size and not break anything. Anyone know what the AWG of those wires is?

I believe I answered my own question, the 14-16 awg T tap was too big and the 18-22awg t tap worked.

I’ve been searching far and wide on this and JL forums. I have yet to see a concrete answer about whether you can tap into the auto dim wires. Mine are red black and yellow. Did you tap those?
