Z Automotive Tazer parasitic drain?

Greetings Folks,

Just installed my Tazer and seems to be working well. However, I have been seeing old treads of the Tazer being a parasitic drain on the battery?

Has anyone experienced this issue. I most certainly don't want to kill a brand new battery. Thoughts?

It's always powered and flashes a tiny little led. Is it a drain? Yes but it would take years to discharge a battery.

Have had mine in for ~8 mo. No issues. Follow the instructions - do the restart + 2 power cycle to make sure things get settled in properly.

It goes into sleep mode 30 seconds after the jeep shuts off. I believe even the led shuts off at that point. Is there still a miniscule drain?
Sure. Just like many other systems in a modern vehicle do. Even without the Tazer, most new cars and trucks will kill a battery sitting a few months. That's why I keep a solar trickle charger on my Ram, which is mostly a yard truck now that I have the Gladiator.
