They are all reusable if you cut them correctly. I have not bought any for many years. Any time I get something with them - I cut carefully, pull out the cut portion, straighten and bag them. I have a fair collection of all sizes and multiple colors. I even have some with the screw hole to secure them.

LOL - well, you are going to remove them from whatever you bought or are taking apart anyway, right?
You are going to make a cut, right? Why not cut in the right spot, and toss it in a box. The only added time is spent putting it in the box.
I just aim my knife blade in a better spot instead of a random place.
I always have a heck of a selection!

Besides, think of all the plastic zip ties out there in landfills and the oceans :sun:

You're using a knife??

This will change your life, both for cutting the tails off without leaving a knuckle slicing edge, and for removing them. (I used to install network cabling, this was required.) Also perfect cuts on hoses, and even large wire insulation by snipping all the way around.

Have some pairs similar to those - along with teflon jacket cutting tool, RJxx crimp tools, spring-loaded snips for cutting the wires perfectly straight and square, other fun stuff from those days.
But I don't always have those when taking things apart. I use the knife when opening or taking things apart.

I use the blue handled snips when cutting cable ties I'm using, etc. - they cut flat and flush and are sharp as heck. Just that a knife is always with me when I'm opening, taking apart and so on. Don't care so much then.

I've ripped my hand on those sharp, angled ends too many times - should have learned - finally cut myself bad and decided never again. More careful as I age - cuts hurt more these days, ha.
These cut it right against the end and square.

Somewhere I have the holster I used for the small pointed nosed blue handled snips on this board. The back side isn't angled so when you cut it cuts flush.

Dang, that bench was a mess that day LOL.

You can find reuseable zip ties (heavy duty) which are also good to have with you for emergencies on the trail
Gonna grab some!

Probably the greatest of all human inventions
Naw, second only to ductape, probably.
With that I have made emergency belts.........

and kept back seat drivers quiet (J/K, of course)

The reusable ones are cool with the little release clip. I have some with the clip made of metal. Those last a long time (I suppose unless you live along the Florida coast)

I've used the full stainless ones on boats, they last "forever." Also great under the Jeep, anywhere hot. In my JK, the plastic ones underhood (in Arizona) didn't survive more than a year.

I need to get my hands on some of those. I've used some things that may be similar to what you are saying - to hold heat wrap around headers........ Maybe the same thing?
Can't hurt to have some of the stainless ones, though - the regular aren't holding up around my plating tanks - I guess they aren't chemical resistant.

Yeah, same thing. There's also a great cheap tool to pull/wrap them using a drill or driver. If I could find it, I'd post a pic. :headbang:

I hope you are wearing a helmet - hate to see a fellow get his head bashed by a brick wall.
i don't think I have any more of those straps - they came with some heat wrap I got with some Jeep headers years ago. The fellow raced Grand Cherokees.

You are evil. Mcmaster is the sort of place where you go to order a $2 pack of zips and a $5 pack of network jacks, then find yourself working out a payment plan with your credit card company by the time you're done ordering everything you "need."
